I have a lower unit out of a 40 hp. (E40ELEOD) that I want to put on a 48 hp.
(J48ESLESA). The 48 didn't, have it,s lower unit when I bought it. I had this 40 hp. With a blown power head and a good lower unit. I tried to put the 40 LU on the 48 but it stops with 2 1/4 in. To go. According to the model numbers both units should have a 20 in. length. I am at a loss, what could it be?
