Evinrude year model and HP??

I have had this motor for several years, but I do have questions. I was told it was 60 HP when I bought it, but cannot find a 60 HP on the model chart.

The information on the motor decal is very difficult to read.

The model #: E 60 P L CE A It is very indistinguishable and the letter/numbers appear to be in different fonts, making it all the more difficult to read. This is the best guess I can come up with, and I am really unsure of some of the letters.

the serial number appears to be: G 02275647. I am pretty confident this is a correct number.


What would be the correct spark plug? It currently has Champion L77JC4.

What is the proper lower unit lube and viscosity to use?

It's a 1989 model. Yes that is right spark plugs and use Evinrude HI-VIS Gearcase Lube.

What is the lube capacity of the lower unit?

What is the gap for the spark plugs?
