  • 1968 18hp Lower Cowl rubber mounts

I want to replace the broken rubber shock absorbing mounts on my 18hp. How do I get the power head off, so that I can lift the lower cowl section enough to replace the rubber mounts?

It looks like there are 5 or 6 screws which hold the lower gearcase housing to the bottom of the cowl/engine crankcase area. Is it as simple as removing those and lifting up the powerhead or is there more to it.

I realize I will have to deal with the shift and throttle linkages as well.

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    David

Yes just remove bolts at base of engine and lift out.
