Help please, 81 15 evinrude

Hello all I have a 15hp evinrude. I know nothing about motors at all. This motor was givin to me and my buddy told me it ran but now it wont start. When I pull the rope to start it I get nothing at all no spark. Where should I start. I am a beginner at this but with patience I will try to fix it myself. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Check the stop switch(disconnect it and check for spark), if it's ok then ignition components would need to be tested to find problem.
