  • 1989 E25ELCEB Questions

    Hi all,
have a few questions about an 1989 E25ELCEB, with only about 30 hours on it,

#1, am installing a complete water pump kit (#80) is any gasket sealer required? and is there a torque setting on the pump housing?

#2, am replacing the flywheel nut because i had to remove it a few times to replace the power pack, is any type of locktite required? and what would you torque it down to?

#3, the washer is missing from the top of the br*** water tube, but is in the grommet tight and looks fine, is the washer necessary?

#4, have been using merc quicksilver mix at 50-1, with middle grade gas, is premium or regular gas recommended for this evenrude?

    Thanks, Paul

water pump kit does not require sealer or a specific torque specs, just tight. Flywheel nut does not require lock-tite. As long as the water tube is not leaking water you should be ok. The oil mix and fuel should be ok.
