Hi, last month my 1990 6 hp would not idle so I pulled the carb to clean it. I found that the pick up tube ( inside the carb for the idle circuit) was crack and degrading. I ordered and installed a new one and also decided to replace the (upper) carb cap and gasket, which I believe is the idle circuit, cleaned and blew her out. So now she will idle but stumbles excessively when applying throttle. When I had the carb apart the second time I noticed a hole near the top of the pick-up tube's br*** nipple. I did NOT notice the hole when I had it apart earilier. So the $64K question is, should that hole be there or did I possilbe damage it when changing the tube out? If it's not suppose to be there, how would I repair it and if it is suppose to be there what else could my stumbling problem be? I have changed out the spark plugs and changed the gas. I normally run regular pump gas with ethonal and a 75:1 mix.
Thx, SS
