Hi,
I have a 2000 225 RAM that runs awesome...very strong, very little smoke but it just shuts off after about an hour or so while going slow at a "no wake" speed. I have plenty of oil and good water coming out of the motor. I have no alarms....when I try to start it back up, it's like it's in gear and will not start back up (even though it's in neutral). It appears to be some type of sensor shutting down the engine at low idle speeds while in gear...but yet it is completely dead when I try to restart...like the neutral safety switch is activated. The gauges move and light up but no power to the starter. Any ideas? It's happened twice at slow idle speeds while in forward gear. Again the motor runs and sounds great except for this problem. I just replaced the controls and the motor ran just fine until this shutdown. Any help out there?
