  • Evinrude 2005 175 DI fuel alarm problem

G'day guys, I have a 2005 175 bombardier evinrude. I have a fuel flow alarm (i think) it is beep beep beep pause etc and it flashes fuel flow (0.4 liters per hr)on the gauge. the motor runs fine. I have found the fuel sensor and have diconected the fuel lines and blown thru to try and clean out any shit. How can i clean the sensor properly ? Do you think this is the problem ? I have taken the boat out for a quick run and it runs fine, not hot, and fuel flow is def not the problem. Please help as the spanish mackeral have just started here and i cant wait to get into them
Cheers guys any help is appreciated. It is a Direct injection 2 stroke.

Have you checked the water fuel/separator sensor? If so there is no good way to clean, just have to replace.

Sorry mate just read that properly. I have only looked at the water fuel separator and there is no water in that. Where is the sensor and how do I check it? How can this affect the system? Just trying to get my head around this problem, as my wife and I have just bought a house and I have almost no moneys for my boat at the moment, and fishing in it is one of our great relaxations. Sorry for my ignorance, any help is greatly appreciated

There is a water fuel separator on the engine, at the top is a wire (sensor) disconnect that wire and run boat. If alarm still goes off then your problem is somewhere else.
