  • Head temps on 92' 115 hp crossflow

While winterizing my 1992, 115 hp C4 crossflow, I had engine running and on muffs. After idling for about 10 minutes, I thought I would check cylinder head temps with a pyrometer. I took the temps on the cylinder head cover plate about 1" to the side of each spark plug. The left side ( port side) temps were about 125 degrees each on the two cylinders, while the right side temps were about 85 degrees each on the two cylinders. Could this be normal? Or do I need to really check it by raising the rpm's, which I don't want to do on muffs.

That should be ok but for best results put it in water and run for a while.

THanks, but I thought the big difference in temps may be a problem with waterflow.
