I have a 1974 115 Evinrude O/B ( CD-4 Ignition ) cyl 2 & 4 have great spark, cyl 1 & 3 have no spark ( erratic ) or at times spark for 6 to 8 time then stop for a long time. I switched coils and the same happens, I did a Sensor Coil Resistance Test - 7.8 to 8.0 ohms ( in range ) ,Charge Coil Resistance Test - 594 ohms ( in range ) . I do not have a S-80 or M80 Neon Light Tester, is there any other way to do a Sensor Coil Output Test, Charge Coil Output Test, Power Pack Output Test. I did replace the Power Pack last years, do you think it is gone once again. or is the problem else where. Thanks for you time.

Use an old taillight or similar and hook one wire to the positive of the battery and the other to the positive lead of the motor, once the bulb lights then hook the lead to the battery. This will cause the power to build up slower in the ignition pack. Might work/might not, I use this method on electric golf carts using a 100 watt bulb to load the motor control so as not to create a major arc.
