I have a 1997 Evinrude 2 stroke 15hp model E15RECR. It will idle all day. Give it throttle and after 200 metres it just dies. I checked the fuel pump and I found it to be loose. I also found that it was 2 gaskets short. I put a new gasket set in and thought that the problem would be solved. Under power i now get 300 metres and then it dies. To get home I have to keep squeezing the in line fuel pump. I noticed that it is hard to squeeze because it is all sucked in. I am thinking that if this is the case then the new fuel pump is working. But maybe the pickup into the tank is stuffed. Help me please.

Sounds like a tank or bulb problem, for some reason air isn't getting into the tank to replace the fuel that you are using, is the vent screw plugged? Loosen the cap and see if it runs. The other thing that comes to mind is something in the hose or bulb check valve, take the motor connector off the hose and pump the bulb to see if you get good flow.
