I have a 1981 Evinrude E15RCIS. I have only owned it for a few months and haven't used it yet.
The motor starts easily enough (most of the time), but won't stay running any longer than 5-7 seconds--and that's if the throttle is left in the start position. It dies when throttled down, or if it has been running any longer than 5 seconds. I have taken apart the carb and cleaned it with SeaFoam on the workbench. Got it to the point where I can keep the engine running with throttle at start position, as long as I keep messing with the choke. Still can't throttle it down without it quitting.
Also, I am getting water in both cylinders. I'm getting cloudy/milky, gray watery fluid on the spark plugs and also out of the exhaust.
Compression tested 120Lbs on the top cylinder, 115Lbs (leaks down to 110Lbs over the course of 10 minutes) on the bottom cylinder. Apply compressed air to the cylinders, and I can hear no leakage.
Please guys, if you have any input here, I'd really like to hear it.
