  • 90 Hp injector problems

    G'day,

I have a 2008, 90 Horse power E-tec. My engine wont turn over, however, it does sound as though its ABOUT to tic over. I have checked my plugs in the correct sequence and a good spark is occurring on all of them. I can feel my fuel pump engaging and vibrating. and I'm almost positive (due to light water intrusion) that my injectors have gone. worried I had ruined my engine, I replaced all of my lines filters (to find a small amount of water in the underfloor tank) though I should have thought this would be removed by my OMC water separator??

I tried cleaning my tank thoroughly and starting my engine with 100 octane petrol infused with injector cleaner and it splutters over which makes me think that one of the injectors is at least working.

On more primitive two stroke engines I am quite capable of changing the injectors myself, though, as I'm sure all E-tec owners are aware it becomes considerably more difficult with these engines.

My understanding is that a proprietary computer configuration is required for each new part installed? this appears to be yet another trick up the sleeve of the conglomerate monopoly that BRP has created.

Has anyone ever changed parts of their engine before (particularly injectors!) if so, is it just the same as any of engine or is there a sequence to it? is it possible to get a hold of the configuration program?

    kind regards,

    Spearo
