Urgent please Evinrude connecting rod outer peace broken

Hi can someone please help me.i have a 1997 Evinrude 55 hp outboard Can the small outer peace of the connecting rod that bolts to the crankshaft is broken & the other piston the connecting rod that bolts to the piston is slack around the Bering's can this affect idling & can it give hart starting ?

Slack? Sounds like you're talking about play in the wrist pin area. There must be no play there as that would result in a knock/tap that would blow the engine which I strongly suspect has already happened.
