Tywrap Usage

I've never worked on boat motors until now. Rebuilding the carbs is the current project. There are tywraps used at nearly every hose connection on this motor.
Is this a common or advisable practice on these engines?
I don't have a problem with plastic tywraps or zipties necessarily but I wanted informed advice before using them during the re***embly.

i noticed a lot of zip ties during my current replacing of all rubber lines on my 97 225, so i decided to stick with that. i dont think it gets very hot enough to melt the ties, and i noticed new coast guard approved rubber lines have a larger total diameter than the previous mfg lines (inside diameter remaining the same). the only lines that the mfg manual specifically calls for the ratcheting type zip ties are on the VRO oil lines from oil tank to the fuel pump. i did see ss clamps on fuel lines from tank to pump, but from pump to carbs i saw zip ties , that included fuel lines from fuel rail line to carb, fuel vapor distributing lines from base of carb. to base of carb. and fuel primer lines.

I never had a problem with "tie straps".

Metal clamps are normally used ONLY if loose sloppy hoses are encountered and replacement hoses aren't available at the time.
