The outside temperature was around 85 degrees and we sat for approximately four hours on the lake and when I went to start the motor it revved up at a high rpm and I immediately turned the key off. I waited another 15 seconds and tried it again and it started without revving up and idled as it should on startup. What would cause it to start and rev at a high rpm on its own after sitting several hours in the sun?
