What is the easiest way to locate an air leak in fuel system. Ball will not stay firm and engine will run as long as bulb is pumped.

And this is Ford 302? ... Seriously, best to state the engine year/hp/make and/or the model number.

You're explanation indicates a failed fuel pump. In pumping the fuel primer bulb constantly, you are acting as a manual fuel pump.

The fuel primer bulb does not stay firm when the engine is running as usually the bulb is laying horizontal somewhere and as such, the fuel level drops down to the halfway mark. This is normal.

The only way the bulb would stay full would be if it were secured vertically with the outlet facing up.... not needed or desired.
