225 ficht idle speed

I think my 2000 225 ficht is idling to low. It stalls very easily when I shift into gear unless I "goose" the throttle and then come back to lower speed. I can find an idle spec (650 +/- 50) but cannot find a procedure for setting the idle. Idle control is not on the list of EMM functions and I see a screw that will change it. I'd rather know what I'm doing then guess.

Careful visual inspection tells me that there is no mechanical idle speed adjustment. I need to check control cable adjustment next, I guess. Engine stalls when shifted into gear at idle unless throttle is moved more than I want to. When I do that and slow the engine down everything is fine.
