I have a 1995 70hp. I'm not sure what the problem is. My battery keeps going dead and my tach isn't working. I've heard both these issues can be related to the rectifier.
After putting a short charge on the battery today, it read 12V with the engine off. I started the engine and throttled it up some and I only got 12.26 volts at the battery leads. I switched my meter to AC and checked the yellow wires at the rectifier and saw 23V there.
Do you guys think this is a bad rectifier or is there something else I should check?
