I have a 1976 Evinrude. When I start it and its not fully warm, like only been off a couple minutes, I have to take off the cowling and flip the manual choke down, start it and jump back and flip it up and go so it won't die. It takes a long time to get warm but when it does its good to go.
It has a warm up/start lever and a choke switch. The choke switch does make the little plunger go down (which comes back up after its running)
It's just not getting enough gas until its going. What would cause it to need the manual choke all the time like that and how do I test what needs to be tested?
THANKS!!!
