  • 6HP Fuel Supply Problem

I have a late 60's or early 70's Evinrude 6HP Fisherman. It runs great most of the time. It starts in a couple pulls when cold, and first pull when warm.

The other day we were duck hunting and it ran great all day until time to pick and go home. It was 60 degrees out and the motor had sat for an hour or so. When I tried to start it, it wouldn't start. The primer bulb felt spongie not really firm. We ended up having to row back to the landing. When I got back to my truck, I pulled the spark plugs and they looked ok, one may have been wet???
I pulled the gas line from the carb and pulled the starter and the pump was was pumping gas. I replaced the plugs and gas line and the motor started on the second pull. I had a card kit put in it last summer.

It seems like it may be an air lock some where. Primer Bulb? Gas Line connectors? Fuel Pump?

Any Ideas? I hate to shot gun it!

    Thank You!

check needle valve in carb. it may be corkin and stopping fuel supply. in otherwords, the needle valve sticks in the seat due to wear. causing the engine to not get any fuel.
