1998 Ficht 150HP

Recently purchased 1998 Ficht 150 HP and have not put in water yet. Have changed spark plugs, Fuel filter water/Separator on engine, and Racor filter.
Experiencing difficulty with cold start-ups and fluctuation in RPM's at idle speed when boat does start up. Any advice....

how old is your battery? Is it fully charged? is it big enough? are you getting to 250rpm's easily? I have read that some models need to get to 250rpm's and you need a large 850cca battery. Not saying this is the case, because I am still waiting on verification of this. It sounds like you may be having a slow turn over.
