After rebuilding the carbs the motor ran great. Now it idles OK but will sometimes stall. With the motor in neutral I can rev it up without any problem, but when I put it in gear and step on the throttle, it wants to bog down and stall. I checked the plugs to see if it's running lean. They are a light tan on one side and dark brown on the other. Is this how they should look, or am I still running a little lean. What else could cause the motor to bog when a load is on it? Thanks.

1995 Evinrude 200 vindicator bogging

If a engine has proper compression and spark on all cylinders, bogging is caused by fouled carburetors, having the throttles opening too soon in relation to the timing, or having the timer base under the flywheel sticking.
I retired in 1991 so I'm not knowledgeable in the design and/or circuitry of that 1995 model but the above causes relates to any of the two stroke models.
The spark, with all s/plugs removed, should jump a 7/16" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame... a real SNAP!
