    Hello,

Just purchased this motor, and according to the PO it does run.
I was told that it has new thermostat, water pump impeller and propeller.
The head area paint had pealed off - indications that that area was overheating. Motor was used with remote controls - but came without them.....also there is no starter - which would be nice to have The locking bracket on cowling is missing. There are few more imperfections throughout the body also.......but first I would like to check compression, and make the motor to tilt again.

    1. what are good compression numbers ??
    2. can rusted bolt prevent motor from tilting??

I will take some picture and see if I can post it here

    regards

    1. Take a reading on each cylinder, throttle wide open (motor off, no plugs), test each cylinder 3-4 times. Write down readings for each test, and each cylinder. maximum difference allowed for any cylinder is 10%. But, not sure if the manual lists a psi number for what the cylinders should read (most don't).

    2. Depends on what bolt you're talking about, yes, a frozen bolt if related to tilt function can affect tilt operation?

Note: when testing compression, have foot in bucket of water deep enough to wet water pump to prevent damage to impeller (it is only water lubricated), pulling by hand can damage it if dry.

    Good luck.
