  • 115 Evinrude (no fuel pressure)

Let me start with I bought everything used. I have a 92 Nitro C/C with a 1983 115 evinrude. I bought it knowing there were some unfinished issues with the previous owners attempt to get it ship shape. The motor has been repaired at a shop to running order. He said when I bought the boat the fuel tank was bad. I have since replaced the suction hose in the tank. It was very brittle. When the motor is on my little red 6 gallon can from my other boat the line pressurizes and the motor runs just fine. When I hook the fuel line from the boats fuel tank to the motor the line will not pressurize.

Now before you say its the boats fuel system. When I remove the fuel line attachment fitting from the fuel line and hold my finger over the open end the line it will pressurize. And the syphon ball in the squeeze ball is nice and active. You can plainly hear it rattling. But put the fitting back on and attach it back to the motor, It will not build up pressure. Any thoughts will be welcomed. Thanks Mark

Do you have a separator between bulb and tank? Check seals, condition. Also if it has an anti-siphon valve at outlet of tank, it maybe bad, don't need it for outboards, use a straight open connector. Check these items and post back. The bulb should create a suction and pull fuel from tank, not pressurize the tank. The vent line on tank allows tank to breath as fuel is being pulled from tank. The bulb pulls fuel and pressurizes the motor side of the bulb -via bulb check valve, but creates a suction on tank side.

Good luck, post back what you find.
