Are you saying the spark plug threads in your cylinder head have stripped out? You might be able to have repaired at a machine shop, or buy a new cylinder head with gaskets. Be very gentle with old screws & bolts, they tend to break off, causing extra problems.
While removing cylinder head, look at all water p***ages for blockage from corrosion, this may have some bearings on why your motor wasn't getting RPMs, and maybe causing plug issues (plugs overheating, threading issues) if areas of cylinders are getting warmer because of water flow issues? Just a suggestion.
Good luck. Let us know how is going.Last edited by Solarman; 05-30-2015, 10:30 AM.

Never replace & install a sparkplug in ANY WARM OR HOT cylinder head. heated up Aluminum IS IS softer. A torque wrench set to the correct torque will do it right. SO RIGHT you will be sure it is setting tension to weak .
Older Aluminum stretches faster & faster.
I have Drilled & tapped for a larger sparkplug if there is 1 available for your head. I raised the piston to almost the the top. Drilled & tapped at a auto machine shop. No Heli Coil problems ...........You would have to check with several SPARK PLUG companies to first see if there is a larger plug of the right length & heat range.Last edited by cyclops2; 05-30-2015, 06:39 PM.
