impeller replacement tool

I have a 75 rude, 135 model 135589e. in the service manual it says i need tool 318674 which is a seal protective sleeve, however, i would like to see a pic. of this pricey tool so as maybe i can manufacture my own. i also don't see why this tool is necessary if one is to be careful. would someone please enlighten me of this matter. Thanks

Not familiar with it. Might try and google the part number and item name. This might give you a pick of it, and tell you more?
