Boat and motor sat for 2 yrs since winterizing system lights did their check o-k. Started motor and all was well. The next day I started the motor and the lights came on all at once and stayed on. Battery is old but was on charge. I had a garden hose connected to engine. Motor is a 115 e-tec and has always performed flawlessly. It is a jet pump and has been sitting for 5 yrs.(except for winterizing.) Oil lines are full. Why would the HOT light come on when I just started the motor. I`m thinking electrical connections.after sitting all this time. Motor was always serviced and brought up to date while running . TIA shriker

Shriker, May be a bad sensor, or connection. Sitting up for long periods allows condensation to set in, can cause connections to get dirty. Old batteries can also cause some newer systems to act up, as some newer motors are very voltage sensitive.
All these motors need to run to dry out, if not in garage, they will still get moisture inside the cover, and cause problems. It's always best, even if just flushing to run for 15-20 minutes, or until motor fully warms up, and can dry out any moisture, at least every 2-3 months.
I'm not real familiar with the jet drives, but know they can be flushed.
Good luck. Let us know if you find anything.
