  • stalling when tilted

    I've spent about an hour searching the threads without luck so I'm going to ask;
    When I have my motor tilted up to run in shallow water it stalls and doesn't want to start back up but when it's in the down position it runs just fine. To me it sounds like a fuel issue. What do the people think, the boat is a 1976 Ranger with a 115 Evinrude.

    Thanks
    Jon

    I'd say the needle valves in your carbs for the float bowls are the problem. If tilted too high, worn-out, sticking, or not adjusted properly, then this can happen.

      I was afraid somebody was going to say carbintooter, carbs are my nemesis, good thing I got a couple friends that are mechanics.
