Evinrude (E8RCSS) 7.5 parts

Broke one of the plastic ends on the Throttle Cable...I have found the part# 0389987 on your website. I am researching aftermarket cables and the only thing i seem to keep running into is there are various lengths available, stating they are good for 1979 to present models of Evinrude... good grief...so my question is, how long is the cable?

You should call the parts store. This is a forum that is not tied to boats.net parts department.

They may be telling you they need to know the length of your throttle cable to send you a replacement. Your throttle cable is a part of the tiller handle, part # 0389987 shouldn't have a length ***ociated with it.

You might try to google your part # and item name. You may find it elsewheres?

thank you solarman...it is a separate part from the tiller, i did not have the time to take out the cable after exposing the broke end, when i removed the grip. I have since, and the length is 40 inches. I wanted to know this as i am trying to source
a cheaper aftermarket part that isn't going to cost me over $100 USD, for a motor that is almost 40 years old... again thanks for your time.

In the parts page above for your motor, it doesn't list multiple lengths of that part, so I don't know why they asked that, you're looking in throttle cable section for remote controls.
Look up your part above, click on the part number, it will show all the motors, and years your cable was used on. Them you can google that part number with item name, and you might find it at lower cost. Make sure they have a pic to compute with yours, they might even have a number to call.
