evinrude 225 / 2005 no start
Good morning,
last month I went fluking and at the end of a drift where I was a little close to a pile of rocks I tried to start engine and it did not turn over. I anchored, looked at engine and could not tell what was wrong. I called boat US.
Back at my dock I removed cover and noticed some corrosion around starter solenoid. I cleaned it up and engine started.
I go out again and engine wont start. I remove cover and tap solenoid, engine starts. I get back to dock, remove solenoid and buy new one. I put it on and you guessed it engine starts.
I did not get out for two weeks, when I go to start engine it will not start. I get a chirp when I turn ignition. I am able to power engine tilt to put prop in and out of water. But the engine will not turn over. I am a fairly new boater I have had this rig for 3 seasons. Anyone care to throw out a suggestion or two. I checked wires, fuses, batteries, etc, etc,. I do not know what to do.
