electrical question
I have a 1977 70 hp and I was doing a light test at the power pack. I disconnected the coil wires for each cylinder coming out of the pack and then put the alligator clip on the screw and grounded the test light. cranked the engine and the light came on for each of the cylinders.(actually two out of the three strobed and one stayed red with no on/off activity). but when I hook up the coil wires to the powepack and try to do the same test the light doesn't come on. why??? is this a stupid question?
