Many years ago we began getting intermittent low oil warnings combined with overheat warnings on this motor. After several attempts to resolve with no success we took it to an Evinrude mechanic and he recommended disconnecting the VRO and running premixxed fuel.
We have been running the boat (98 Wellcraft 210 CC) for 6 or 7 years now successfully without issue.
My question is why not hook up the VRO again and try running the oil injection system for better efficiency and lower emissions? Is there a way to test the VRO pump, oil system and alarms to reestablish the VRO system? Or should i just replace the VRO pump straight away? ($$$) Besides the oil line which has been disconnected and plugged what else needs to be reconnected? I think there is a harness plug. Anything else?
Should I not bother considering it is running as is?
Thanks in advance from a newb!
