I have a 1979 Evinrude V6 150HP. It was idle for 14 years before I started it a few months ago. An outboard mechanic was there and he checked the numbers and told me it had "new engine" compression, correct alternator output, correct trim pump output, etc. He suggested that I have him rebuild the carbs at the end of this boating season. I will do that.
Today while adjusting the idle speed, I noticed a steady drip of water from the air intake of the bottom port side carb. I did not see water coming out of any other carb air intake. I ensured it was water by smelling it on my fingers. Not gas, but warm water.
The engine seems to idle and run well, it will turn up over 5000 rpm at full throttle.
What does that mean?
