1994 Evinrude 120hp no charge

My 94 evinrude 120hp is not charging the battery. I'm guessing it's something to do with the stator. It will run with the battery unhooked. Was wondering if anyone knew a way that I could test the stator. I put a multi meter on the cables while the motor was running and I'm not getting anything. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

Need a peak reading voltmeter to properly test stator output, but can see if have an AC voltage going to voltage regulator to see if it's stator or regulator thats bad, most of the time it's the regulator.
