Just bought the engine and runs great! If i use the rope it starts on first pull every time easily but when i hook up batery it will hardly turn it over and wont spin it fast enough to start. Wat could the problem be? Battery is fully chrged. Also where could i find parts to just convert it to pull start so i dont have to remove cover everytime.

Load test battery and load test battery cables at engine to see if maintains at least 10 volts under load. If does then probably have bad starter.

Also noticed tht the cables had some splits. And they got extremly hot when trying to start

Replace the cables.
