1988 Evinrude 15hp slow at full throttle

I have a 1988 Evinrude 15hp 2 stroke with remotes that has had the following work done 2 years ago:-
x2 new Coils
New Power Pack
Carb overhaul
new Impellor (last year)

I have not used the outboard for just over a year, and when I took it out on the water at the weekend it splutters and slows down at full throttle!

It seems fine in the water barrel when I build the revs up, it only seems to happen when its in forward gear on the water!

Could it be that the fuel has varnished in the carb as it has not been used for a year ans has been stored in my garage?

Yes need to remove and clean carb.

Carb now cleaned and working.
The tube on the nozzle well was blocked!

I also found another problem which was causing the engine being hard to start and some times cut out, it was the Kill cord wire at the connector it was badly corroded so I cut off the corroded piece and put on a new connector and is now running beautifully.
