Small inline fuel filter 98 150 ficht intruder?

I had a small (what I ***ume to be a filter) break off at the stem on one of my fuel lines under the cowling. I cannot find any info on this little filter. Any idea what I can replace it with? Even parts diagrams do not show it. It only about 1/2".. Was this possibly added as an after market? Any help greatly appreciated.

Not sure which part you are talking about but if it's not in parts catalog then may be something added.
