The warm up lever recently broke on my control box the plastic piece that connects the lever to the cam broke. I removed the broken piece. Now when I crank the engine the motor runs up to 5000 rpms even though the throttle control is in the normal idle position and the carburetor linkage is barely making contact with the cam. I have adjusted the cables both throttle and shift in and out with no response. It appears that the spark advance is moving forward even though the throttle is in idle. Question do you think the problem is in the linkage, carb adjustments or the spark advance device. Could the warm up lever control be causing this ??
