My 25 hp evinrude has been hard to start lately and now it will not start at all. I cleaned the carb, and the fuel pump was rebuilt a few months ago.I replaced my impeller during the winter and it was always pumping a good amount of water. My mechanic suspected a sheared flywheel key. I took the flywheel off and the key is good. However, my coil ***embly and sensor ***embly are covered in a black tar substance. I'm ***uming one or both of them melted due to overheating. I have never seen this and I am confused on why it happened.
