Ahoy Admirals, Captains and Mates:
Purchased this craft a few weeks ago for $1700, had it out 4 times and performed like new. Before I do the bearings on the trailer I think it's best I change the water pump on the 85 HP engine. I have watched about every YOUTUBE video and other videos on "how to" replace the water pump, but as the internet goes, one person says shift lever should be in FORWARD, another says NEUTRAL and yet another says REVERSE. Are there directions somewhere that I can follow so that I won't screw up? I'm afraid I'll ruin a bunch of kids fun this summer if I take it off and mess things up. I've read "don't turn the shift rod", "disconnect the rod under the carbs", some people use gasket sealer, others don't...Can somebody please tell me where to find directions? I just ordered a 1977 service manual for 85HP but it's days away. All replies are much appreciated and will bring good Karma to the poster.
THANKS!
