My 1985 25 hp Evinrude has a small decal above the fuel line connection that shows 100:1 for the oil mixture.
Has anyone ever herd of a two-stroke that's suppose to be mixed 100:1 ?
Its runs rough when mixed 50:1 but at 70:1 it ran pretty good and not so much smoke from running it. Too scared to mix it any thinner.

    Thanks for any help,
    Tony

evinrude and Johnson (omc)engines did put a decal on the engines for a year or so that said 100 to 1. very stupid thing to do.
evinrude and Johnson also had to repair thousands of engines due to this stupid idea under warranty for free.
service bulletins were sent to dealers to let customers know to use 50-1 and take the decal off.
they also went **** up and bust due to a few other daft attempts to be different and try to get the engines to run much cleaner for the emissions brigade.
that's how come BRP got the company cheap.

stick to 50 to 1 and youl be ok, if you run full throttle all the time then go 40 to 1 and develop a touch more power and double the engine life.

Yamaha also tried the 100 to 1 gimic, they had to put out a different message in a service bulletin too.

Thanks guys, I'm sticking to 50:1 and removing that decal.

        Great Forum!
