  • 28hp buzzer

Newbie here.....just bought a pontoon with a mid-80s 28hp. Today I was slow idling for about 15 minutes. A buzzer went off in the throttle controls. I turned the motor off. Let it sit for a couple minutes and re-fired it without issue. I looked to make sure that water was pumping out of it...it was.

    Any suggestions are appreciated!

could of been something clogging the water intake, when you switched it off the suction stopped the possible plastic bag or large leaf falls off.
you start the engine and all is fine .
typical thing if you get something clog an intake.
plastic bags are terrible for this, I have blown an engine due to plastic bag.

the buzzer would be over heat on that year.
if the tell tale is nice and strong now youl be ok, it probably got a bit of water to it but not enough to cool the engine.

keep an eye on the temp gauge if you have one, if not then do get a temp gauge they are cheap and very easy to fit.
