I got a 3hp engine for free at my marina last year and I just got her up and running. Didn't start at the beginning but I didn't really do much and she started up. I changed the plugs and I checked the gas lines to make sure the gas was getting to the carb and then she started right up.
Took her out for the first time last weekend and she goes realllllly slow at full throttle. I haven't really been around small HP engines before so I didn't really know what to expect other than what I stumbled across in this video. Free 1987 3 hp evinrude outboard motor: will it run? - YouTube
Needless to say my engine doesn't go anywhere near that fast on my small aluminum boat. It doesn't even create a wake at full throttle. Thoughts??
