Fuel Tube Jeapordy for my 79 115 V4

Hi All- Man, what a relief to find this forum! Hope I can be a help. I am restoring a 1978 Ranger B*** boat with a 79 Evinrude 115 V4. Before I ask my question, you should know this thing runs like a top. I regularly reach speeds in the high 30's which is awesome.

So, here is my question. I was replacing all the fuel tubing, and when I removes the carbs to do that, I found this random hose with a broken br*** fitting that comes out the bottom of the intake/carb. It had (had) a br*** nipple, but for the life of me I can't find where it originally plugged into. It doesn't effect the performance of the engine (or so I think), but I would sure like to know where it is supposed to go. Maybe a fuel drain to prevent flooding? I can find it in my manual anywhere.

looks like airbox fitting to me too.
its a bit like over flow, and on a v4 you don't want any fuel going away for free.

the diagrams call tht the "air silencer" it plugs into the back of your intake manifold, when standing behind the motor, the bolt on the bottom left to take the intake manifold off, it goes right inside of that, that little nozzle needs to be replaced. it seemed pretty important to me, considering i had fuel/oil milky mixture coming from it, or water/oil mix.... im new to the boating world, so dont know exactly how important this part is... hope i helped. also, if you want to find where it goes on the intake manifold, pull it off, and find your bolt holes through the gasket. its the hole INSIDE the gasket, close to a bolt hole. ill try n upload a pic in a minute
