Reverse on my 90 hp ficht

HI folks
I have a 1999 90 hp Ficht that seems to have verry little control in reverse. At half throttle it hardly gets out of it's own way. It has a stainless steel prop that performs great going
forward but in reverse it's even difficult pulling up to a dock and slowing down.
What are some possibilties? Changes? Things to check for?

Outboards with thru hub exhaust wont have much thrust in reverse. Not much can be done about that.
