i bought an 04 triton TR20X with an 04 rude 225 ho di on the back. first time taking it out the throttle cable broke and hung the motor around 3/4 throttle. trimmed it down she shut it off. ordered a new cable the next day and i replaced it. took it to the lake the next day and adjusted it until it seemed right to me. idled fine and ran fine for 2 hours or so. was idling into the last spot for the day and when i put it in neutral the motor revved itself to 4000 rpms and stayed there. i tapped the hot foot to make sure it wasnt hung or stuck again. it revved on up to around 6000 rpms then came back down to 4000 rpms. stayed there for about 2 seconds then the motor shut itself down on its own and sounded the check engine alarm. now when i turn the key on nothing happens except for the check engine light flashing and it wont turn over or do anything. like there isnt a battery in the boat. anyone else ever experienced this or might know what could be the root cause. ive got an appointment tomorrow to take it to the shop to have it ran on a diagnostic machine but i was just seeking advice on here first. thanks in advance fellas and as always TIGHT LINES!!!
