2002 ficht 200 hp outboard thermostat

I have a 200hp 2002 ficht outboard. I am in the process of changing the thermostats.i had a rough time removing the thermostat caps. One was removed no problem but the other one would not budge. I had to drill it out. In the process, I nicked the threads in the aluminum casting. My question is, what is the thread size in the housing so I can retread it.

Not sure, can you measure one of old bolts with thread gauge?

Thanks for the reply. The thread I'm looking for has a 1.250 dia. I do not know the threads per inch. It looks like a 16 pitch but am not sure. I do not have a thread gage to check it.

Probably 1/4 20 bolt but don't know for sure.
