I have a 1995 150 HP Intruder that I purchased as a non running motor. The top two right cyclinders were gone, galled badly. Attempting to get this engine back running I'm seeing refrence to the cause of this problem could be water related. It seam that Evinrude "glued" the blocks together for a time on these engines. The problem comes from the "glue Line" leaking water into the top one and possibly the second cyclinder.
I also understand the issue was corrected by Evinrude changing how the blocks were manufactured - eliminating the "Glue Line" which stopped the possiblity of the water leak.
My question is what year did they change the way the block was made? The engine I have was manufatured in 1994 and has a model year sold as a 1995 model.
One other question - if in fact mine is still a glued block how does one go about presure testing the block for a possible leak?
Thanks
