Hi, first post on here. I have two '07 150 e-techs on a 60' houseboat on Lake Powell. The boat is kept in the water about 8 months out the year. Before leaving the dock last year, I would start the engines and let idle to warm up for about 5-10 minutes. During this time, I would check and make sure I was getting water out of the tell tale. After backing out the slip for about a minute or so, I would get an overheat warning on my port engine, so I would shut it down. Once I had the boat pointed in the right direction, I would restart the engine, and as long as I was moving forward, I wouldn't overheat. Any long period of time using reverse, the port engine will give me the warning. Both water pumps are new and I will be replacing the thermostats in each engine, but what else can I do? Should I try something like Barnacle Buster? Thanks in advance for any help and information!
